A fresh startIt's been a while, but I decided to start using my deviantART account again.
Chances are, though, that you completely forgot who the hell I am, so allow me to re-introduce myself.
I'm jan, a 27 year old designer and developer, who used to be fairly active on deviantART a few years ago, under the name of `janvanlysebettens.
I joined deviantART somewhere around 2003 and worked a few years for the creative team, which was a lot of fun.
Now I'm working for a small design agency in Ghent, called chilli where I'm responsible for the design and development of most our websites. And on this very moment, I'm also starting as a freelance designer & developer, which is exactly why I'm relaunching my deviantART account.
With this relaunch comes a new name, so you can now find me under my full name: `janvanlysebettens

The New Street Photographer's ManifestoIn my last post I asked if anyone knew of some great female photographers. I asked because I was working on a street photography book which would feature inspiring photographers from around the globe. A year later and this book is finally out!

Waking DreamMore than 2 years since my last entry. I gave up my passion for love, I am finding it yet again. Turning 30 this year makes me kinda crazy. I did a whole lot of reflection and things I've been wanting to do but didn't have the chance to.
I left my well paying but utterly stressful job and took a good 4 months break (still counting). I was in Thailand for a month and went for a 10days Vipassana mediation course where there was no contact with the outside world, no phone, no tv, no internet. 10 hours of meditation everyday with no talking or interaction with everybody else. I was living in a cell-like hostel room, losing sleep and spent a whole lot of time being with just myself.
It was then when I decided to go on a trip to Taiwan with my family (16 of us from young to old). Even though I just went Taipei 6 months ago. It was something I've never done before, (not counting the short 1-day JB trip) traveling with my family. I've been going everywhere else, without them. I was

Out of curiosity, just how long did it take you to cut into that coconut? I have never been able to get into one of those things without causing major arterial damage and/or losing fingers.
